Smoking isn't worth the buzz

Photo of Ian, an 18 year old Camel smoker, holding the message that smoking nicotine isn't worth the buzz.

While alcohol depresses the nervous system producing drunkenness, nicotine stimulates it producing an alert adrenaline driven sensation. This perked senses sensation is enough to bring two-thirds of first-time youth smokers back again and again until their brain becomes de-sensitized to "normal" and starts growing millions of nicotinic receptors in at least eleven different brain regions.

Their brain dopamine pathways now slave to using, they begin experiencing urges and craves if they wait too long before using, and a wanting satisfaction sensation within seconds after replenishment. Ian wants you to know that nicotine's adrenaline buzz just isn't worth it. Already up to half-a-pack, his paychecks are smaller, smoking has already given him chronic bronchitis, and he's tried quitting twice and failed.
